Seminar - "Value Based Care and Its Implications: Preparing for Bundled Payments and CJR"

We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming educational seminars held in association with The Value Based Healthcare Consortium and Labrador Healthcare Consulting.

Topics

Overview of BPCI and CJR

The Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model hold hospitals financially responsible for the quality and cost of an episode of care. It incentivizes increased coordination of care among hospitals, physicians, and post-acute care providers. The episode of care begins with the hospital admission and ends 90 days post discharge to cover the complete period of recovery.

Under the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Initiative (BPCI) is comprised of four broadly defined models of care which link payments for the multiple services beneficiaries receive during an episode of care. Under the initiative organizations enter into payment arrangements which include financial and performance accountability for episodes of care.

Reducing Clinical and Financial Risks Through Technology

Web based technology can help standardize process and encourage compliance to agreed upon best practices to identify and mitigate the risks associated with knee and hip replacement surgeries.

Web-Based Care Pathways and Management

Web based care pathways enable patients to participate as partners in their care while giving providers the ability to coordinate and monitor large patient volumes more effectively. Engaging patients in a coordinated plan of care results in reduced episode cost, higher patient satisfaction, fewer readmission, and improved outcome scores.

Data Analytics

Significant value from health data comes from connecting the pieces to provide meaningfully timely feedback positioning providers to impact outcomes. Knowing the source, timing and accuracy of information is critical to timely intervention and driving toward an outcome

Gain Sharing and the Bundle

The value generated by the efforts of the care episode team can be shared by all stakeholders using a mutually agreed upon formula. Physicians can be rewarded with a bonus up to 50% of the surgeon fee allowed by the DRG.
